bugatti Holding Brinkmann achieved strong growth in 2014

Sales increase by 3,5 percent - brand appeal expands further

Herford. bugatti Holding Brinkmann GmbH & Co. KG is looking back on an extremely successful business year in 2014. Sales increased by 3,5 percent compared to the previous year, to 220 million Euro (without license revenue). As a result, the Herford-based fashion house has clearly outpaced the industry, which only achieved  a growth in sales of 1,7 percent in 2014. Even the overall adverse conditions for the fashion industry in the 2nd half of the year couldn´t slow down the growth of bugatti Holding in 2014.

"All segments of the group of companies have developed positivity, and made a clear contribution to growth", declared the managing partners Wolfgang and Klaus Brinkmann. "We have managed to further increase the appeal of our brand", is how they explain the success. In 2014 the export share was also stable and high at 45 percent. The main export country was once again Italy, followed by the Netherlands and Scandinavia. Italy has restabilised after the public debt crisis, leading to the Herford-based company achieving an increase in sales of seven percent. The effects of the critical situation in the Russian market were not yet felt in the last financial year. bugatti Holding Brinkmann has expanded market coverage in 2014 with investments - mainly in shops, stores and showrooms. Openings of additional outlets and stores are planned in 2015. As well as this, the fashion label also wants to increase its profitability . The focus here is on the optimisation of logistics and improvement of IT processes. "Our group of companies is very well set up. That´s why we´re able to look to the future with careful optimism, despite the difficult overall developments", emphasised Wolfgang and Klaus Brinkmann. bugatti Holding Brinkmann has 939 employees in Germany, of which 389 are employed at the headquarters in Herford.

The core brand bugatti started 2014 with strong advance orders, which was then affected by the weak autumn/winter season. However, compared to competition and the conditions in the market, bugatti proved itself to have stable sales volumes. Jackets and vests made of lightweight material developed particularly well. The product groups of knit/weave, shirts and trousers also saw increases. Also on the upswing was the area of women´s fashion, with jackets and coats. In spring/summer 2015 a women´s swimwear collection with bikinis and swimsuits will be offered for the first time. bugatti also further enhanced its profile as a lifestyle brand. The distinctive brand world can be experienced in the completely redesigned bugatti stores and shops. The new store design was presented for the first time in the middle of 2014, with the franchise partner Finke in Gütersloh, on 175 sam of sales area. bugatti continues to develop its overseas business with the retail campaign: new stores opened both in Saudi Arabia and Taiwan. Important clients in the Dutch market also took on the new design concept. As well as this, there were new showrooms in the Netherlands and Switzerland. The 1,300 sqm showroom in Düsseldorf was also converted into the look of the new store design. License revenues made a positive contribution to the success. bugatti men´s shoes are running perfectly, and have established themselves as a top brand. In January, 2015, bugatti presented itself for the first time, and very successfully, at the fashion trade fair Panorama in Berlin, and is confident about orders for the upcoming autumn. 

The Eduard Dressler brand has gained market share in 2014, both at home and abroad. Sales have grown both in the German market and in the export market, despite the difficult situation in the Eastern European markets. As a supplier of superior quality men´s fashion, Eduard Dresser further strengthened its leading position in the product groups as well as the markets themselves are planned. The campaign with a reference from the star trumpet player, Till Brönner, has also had a very positive effect on the name recognition of the brand. The license brand DAKS has achieved sales par in 2014. In 2014, before its maturity, cooperation with the licensor was extended to 2019.

For the company Wilvorst, 2014 was a very successful year. Sales of the brands Wilvorst, Tziacco und Atelier Torino increased considerably. The brand Corpus Line remained on par, but the new B2B visualisation tool "Styleprofiler" had a clear upturn. This tool, which lets individual customized clothing be configured on the computer screen, will continue to receive investment. Wilvorst has once again consolidated its position as market leader for formal and special occasion men´s clothing. Existing production at the German location in Northeim with 200 pieces daily, supplemented with international production in Southern Europe, is a guarantee for high quality and flexibility. The prospects for 2015  are positive. 

For the company Pikeur Reitmoden (Pikeur equestrian fashion) from Werther/Westfalen, with the brands Pikeur and Eskadron, 2014 was the strongest sales year ever in the company´s history. Domestically Eskadron scored points with riding gear, while in exports Pikeur gained market share. The export share stayed high at 54 percent. Besides Germany, the Olympic supplier Pikeur has also developed well in the important markets of Great Britain and France, which, aside from Benelux countries and Scandiavia, are the most prominent riding nations in Europe. Another positive for Pikeur was its growth on the  North American continent. The mainstay of sales in 2014 was clothing in the area of riding breeches and jackets, which are in part still produced in Uchte (Lower Saxony) of Herford. The cooperation with Ludger Beerbaum was once again strengthened and developed this year. The company Pikeur is starting the new tournament season optimistically.
