After a stressful start to the year, I finished the winter with a holiday in one of my favourite parts of Europe. As someone who was born in Upper Bavaria, Germany, Norway is not exactly on the top of my list of destinations because the warm southern countries such as Italy and Croatia are temptingly closer. However, it was my passion for fishing that brought me to this super country for the first time three years ago.
Via Oslo, I travelled to Tromsø, the biggest city in northern Norway. From there, it is an hour’s drive to the coast and a fishing village called Sommerøy. I stayed in one of the typical Norwegian wooden houses directly by the sea and the beach. When the tide is out and the weather is good, this location is also perfect for extended walks along the beach. Despite the windy conditions, my bugatti field jacket was the ideal choice. It kept me warm and protected me against the fierce wind, yet it is still extremely lightweight. My bugatti outfit served me well on a hike up the local mountain.
The grey, fine knit zip neck jumper is ideal underneath the lightweight jacket and goes well with the jeans. It felt neither too warm nor too cold, in fact, just right. You can dress smartly despite the Nordic conditions, including snow.
When I was in Norway, we were there for two days, and I didn't sleep one hour there. I stayed up and watched the sunset, then watched it rise again. It was crazy, but I just loved it so much.
